RESTAURANTS - L'ISLE SUR LA SORGUE

We are often asked for restaurant recommendations.....so here are our current favourites and some helpful hints. You will need to check the time/days they are closed. There are many other restaurants in addition to these - find your favourites.

La Prévôté - 'The Sorgue runs under it'
A: 4  rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, L'Isle sur la Sorgue P: 04 90 38 57 29 W: http://www.la-prevote.fr/fr/frontpage/

We recommend enjoying a meal at La Prevote. It offers a lovely terrace or attactive dining room, excellent food and good service. Great for a celebration meal too.

Hint - The weekday lunch is particularly good value - book during the busy summer months

Le Vivier - 'Best food'
A: 800 Cours Fernande Peye, L'Isle sur la Sorgue P: 04 90 38 52 80 W: http://www.english.levivier-restaurant.com/#le-vivier

We recommend celebrating any special occasion with dinner at Le Vivier - the food is fantastic as you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. The terrace is fantastic on a warm day.

Hint - The set weekday Market Menu is particularly good value - reservations recommended

Reynaud'dmets - 'Great food and service'
A: 52  rue Carnot, L'Isle sur la Sorgue P: 04 90 24 86 62

We had previously recommend enjoying dinner or lunch at the Mistral. The restaurant has been sold and is now Reynard'mets. We dropped in for lunch - The food was fresh, showcased seasonal produce and we really enjoyed it.

Hint - Try the shared chef's plate for lunch (photograph)

Cafe Fleurs - 'Beautiful restaurant'
A: 9 rue Theodore Aubanel, L'Isle sur la Sorgue P: 04 90 20 66 94 W: http://www.cafefleurs.com

We always take our visitors here - the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the food and wine are excellent and the service consistently good. The terrace upstairs is fantastic as is the garden area downstairs.

Hint - Make a reservation for lunch on a Sunday after the market.

Le Carré d'Herbes - 'Lovely garden terrace'
A: 13 Avenue des 4 Otages, L'Isle sur la Sorgue P: 04 90 38 23 97 W: http://www.lecarredherbes.eu

Consistently good for lunch or dinner with a beautiful terrace for when the weather is nice and ample seating indoors for when its not.

Hint - Make a reservation for lunch on a Sunday after the market.

Le Carré Rond - 'Always there when we need them'
A: 11 Quai Jean Jaures, L'Isle sur la Sorgue P: 04 90 95 77 02

The Carré Rond is our fall-back position restaurant. On Mondays when lots of restaurants are closed or if you haven't booked anywhere and the restaurants are pretty full - try the Carré Rond. The food is always good and they have a terrace by the Sorgue as well as a nice dining room inside.

Hint - Try here if you are having trouble getting a seat at some of the others.
